          I conducted assays to extract isotopically labeled nitrogen from soil samples.

I designed and optimized microsatellite primers and produced and analyzed sequence-based genotyping data for a population genetics study of cordgrass (Spartina spp.).

          Supervisor: Dr. John Yoder. 
          I independently developed and executed a study of the allelopathic potential of yellow star thistle (Centaurea solstitialis) 
          and corn (Zea mays).

I utilized several molecular assays including PCR while assisting on a project to define the genetic mechanism of seed viability in Arabidopsis thaliana.
